Let’s Go To ... Olympia Rupes, a scarp near the margin of Mars’ north polar cap. The north polar cap is a circular plateau that rises 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) above the surrounding lowland. This image was taken as part of an investigation into the relationship between changes on the dunes to snowstorms in the area. The MRO spacecraft was 318 km (197 miles) above the surface when it snapped this image.
This charming 11 oz White Glossy Ceramic Mug has a colored rim, inside and handle. Let the warmth of your favorite hot refreshment fill your body and spirit as you dream your dreams of the Red Planet. Thanks to NASA/JPL/University of Arizona for providing the outstanding MRO image.
In the view of Derek the Stargazer ... when I hold this mug, it feels like I have something precious in my hands, something that was picked up from the surface of another planet (!) and transported across the vast expanse of space solely for my benefit and enjoyment. Remember, this is a smaller mug with an 11 oz capacity, close to the capacity of a Starbucks “Tall” drink. This mug is dishwasher safe, but I recommend hand washing whenever possible to preserve the priceless Martian snapshot for the longest possible time. It is also microwave safe.
